WinTab is a Chrome new tab extension that provides a Windows 10 style dashboard. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data WinTab collects and how it is used.

Data Collection

WinTab does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API.

Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored locally on your device only:

Shortcuts - Your custom website shortcuts and tiles
Settings - Your extension preferences
User Info - Display name shown in the start menu

Permissions

WinTab requests the following browser permissions:

storage - To save your shortcuts and settings locally
topSites - To display your most visited websites as default shortcuts
identity - To detect your Chrome profile name for display in the start menu

Third-Party Services

WinTab does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services. No data is sent to external servers.

Data Security

All data is stored using Chrome's secure storage API and never leaves your device. WinTab has no server-side components.

Children's Privacy

WinTab does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age.
